SUMMARY:Jimmy Fund Summer Wellness Series
DESCRIPTION:The Jimmy Fund Summer Wellness Series presented by Bayer will feature virtual at-home fitness classes\, education sessions\, nutrition & wellness webinars\, as well as active family activities for New Englanders\, while ensuring participants can stay socially distant. The area's top fitness instructors and wellness experts are joining forces with the Jimmy Fund to lead a variety of virtual fitness classes with a changing weekly schedule including options from workouts and fitness education to wellness and family activities. Classes are free with a suggested donation of $20 per class\, to the Jimmy Fund\, which supports patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Classes are going on now and run through August\, including:   Grateful Running: Conditioning the Mind to Run - This session will provide practical strategies on how to develop a growth mindset and achieve athletic and personal success. (July 7\, 5:30 p.m. with instructor Dr. Grayson Kimball)   Guided Run - Discover your very own scenic route and join us on zoom for a 45-minute coach-led interval running class. All levels of fitness welcome! (July 8\, 5:30 p.m. with instructor Danielle Kroot)   Navigating Pain While Training and Strength Training Principles - Experiencing pain while training can be frustrating\, but it doesn't always mean that the only answer is to stop moving. This class will help you gain a better understanding of pain\, discuss factors that contribute to the pain experience\, and how to determine when it is appropriate to continue training or seek help. (July 14\, 5:30 p.m. with instructor Danielle Kroot) Schedule is subject to change. New classes will be added to the program.
