SUMMARY:Miles/Coltrane Tribute Vol. 2 with Joe Mongelli and the Cape Jazz Crew
DESCRIPTION:During the late '50s and early '60s\, Miles Davis and John Coltrane produced some of the greatest jazz music ever recorded. This concert pays homage to that collaboration featuring meticulous recreations of Miles and Trane's most memorable music. Last year\, Volume 1 to this concert played to rave reviews and sold out at both Preservation Hall and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Of course\, one concert is not enough to cover all the great music from Miles and Trane\, so this year we've added even more of their best-known music- cool Miles tunes and smoking Coltrane originals. The all Harwich horn section features Joe Mongelli on trumpet and Scott Avidon channeling Trane. Other band members include Cape regulars Mark Borgmann on piano\, Michael Ryle on bass and Mark Prall on drums. Don't miss it!
