SUMMARY:Presidential Summers: The Kennedys on Cape Cod
DESCRIPTION:The summers were magical. On Friday evenings\, President Kennedy would arrive by helicopter on the lawn of the sprawling Kennedy home in Hyannis Port. He would be lovingly greeted by his children and a flock of nieces and nephews ready to hop on the golf cart and head to the candy store. For JFK\, weekends on Cape Cod meant renewal\, inspiration\, and fun family times. The President was a golfer and a racing sailor and enjoyed winning at both! \n\nJoin John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum co-founder and director\, Wendy Northcross\, for a look back at the history of the Kennedy family on Cape Cod and enjoy vintage photos of from the 1960s.\n\nWendy Northcross is co-founder and executive director of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum\, which opened in 1992. After a 33-year career in chamber of commerce leadership on Cape Cod\, she joined the museum staff in 2021. The JFK Hyannis Museum preserves and promotes the legacy of President Kennedy and his family's strong ties to Cape Cod. In her spare time\, Wendy and her husband Van\, an author\, enjoy visiting historic sites and spending time with family in Maine and Tennessee. They particularly like coming home to West Barnstable\, and reading on the back porch.
