DESCRIPTION:Greg Abate is a New England jazz saxophonist\, flutist\, composer\, and recording artist who tours Internationally and spends 2 months each year in the UK playing clubs and festivals. Greg is proud to have been selected as the number 2 favorite Alto Saxophonist on the Downbeat Magazine Readers Poll in 2022 and has been in the top 10 for 3 years now. At the beginning of his career Greg played lead alto saxophone in the Ray Charles Orchestra and had the opportunity to play tenor sax with the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra under lead\, Greg played lead alto saxophone in the Ray Charles Orchestra and had the opportunity to play tenor sax with the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra under the leadership of Dick Johnson. Following this experience\, Greg ventured out as a soloist or with his quartet to Jazz Festivals\, Jazz Societies\, and Jazz Clubs throughout the U.S.\, Canada\, and abroad\, including most of Europe\, and the United Kingdom. Playing alongside Greg at the performance is Chris Taylor\, pianist\; Todd Baker\, bass\; and Gary Johnson\, drums.
