River Dinner Series: The Bronx River, with Chef Joe Cizynski
Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, May 23, from 6-8pm. We will be doing dinner’s traveling along some of the great rivers in the world. We will cross them and take food from 4 different locations along the river. We’ll travel the Danube, the Rhine, the Nile, the Loire, the Columbia, the Amazon, the Mississippi, the Hudson and more. Tonight we will travel along the mighty Bronx River!! One of the little-known marvels of the New York City landscape, the 23-mile Bronx River, winds down through southern Westchester and the Bronx. Sourced from the Kensico Reservoir, it is the only major watercourse within the city limits that is not entirely tidal. We will dine in 4 restaurants along the Bronx River. We start in Chappaqua (home of the Clintons) at the Crab Tree Kittle house with their red snapper seviche, then onto Yonkers at X20 and their shellfish crepes, then my old haunt in the Bronx, Arthur Avenue and Enzos veal flank steak spiedini and end around the corner with assorted pastries from Artuso Bakery! The infamous Bronx cocktail will be served! This is a BYOB event and anything goes! $75/$65 for members. ?Register at www.cultural-center.org or call 508-394-7100. The Cultural Center is located at 307 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
