Workforce Development Focus Group

Recent member surveys and board member feedback indicate that local employers have multiple concerns about workforce issues. The Cape Cod Chamber is hosting a focus group session as part of Governor Baker's task force on workforce development, to seek your ideas for strategies to expand best practices or create new programs, including seeking answers to the questions below. RSVP by 7/22 to wendy@capecodchamber.org Potential Questions: Are employers using the career centers -what are the positive experiences and challenges? What capabilities would the centers need to bring to employers to be of value? As employers are looking at their talent needs, what is the priority when employers say that they are having difficulty finding employees with the right skill sets? Is it job readiness (business acumen, communications skills, work ethic, ability to learn), is it skill specific (computer science, engineering, sales, etc.), or is it a mix of both?
