Premiere Screening of “Art Thief”
Thursday, April 25, at 7:30pm. Doors will open at 7pm. Celebrate the premiere screening of “Art Thief,” a movie that was in part filmed at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, followed by a panelist discussion. After stealing a painting from a renowned museum, a passionate but untalented artist is thrust into the midst of criminals, mobsters, and swindlers, who involve him in the most significant art theft in modern history. Inspired by the true story of the 1990 robbery of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Director and writer Arthur Egeli is an artist and filmmaker living in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He owns an art gallery on Commercial Street with his wife, Heather Egeli. They write and produce together and are raising two children in Cape Cod. Arthur's first movie was "The Art of Passion," released in 1995. Since then, he and his wife have produced "Murder on the Cape," "Ghost Forest," "The Black Emperor of Broadway" and "Art Thief." "Art Thief" continues to garner awards, including Best Picture, Best of the Festival, and Best Screenplay. $30/$25 for members. For tickets visit www.cultural-center.org or call 508-394-7100.
