River Dinner Series: Night One, with Chef Joe Cyzinski
Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, January 18, from 6-8pm. We will be having dinners inspired by traveling along some of the great rivers in the world. We will cross them and take food from 4 different locations along the river. We’ll travel the Danube, the Rhine, the Nile, the Loire, the Columbia, the Amazon, the Mississippi, the Hudson and more. We’ll start on France’s longest river The Loire! The Loire River is full of surprises. It is a lazy sunlit waterway lined with grand Renaissance palaces. Country cooking at its best, chefs, pastry chefs, farmers, and vignerons are why the Loire remains so rural. Tonight we will begin in Le Puy with rabbit terrine with pistachios, then from Nantes, we will have poached shellfish salad with spinach and a Muscadet vinaigrette, from Sancerre roast venison with red Sancerre sauce and finish with a variety of Loire cheeses. Complimentary sparkling Saumur Champigny will be served. This is a BYOB event and any of your favorite Loire wines will do. $75/$65 for members. Register at www.cultural-center.org or call 508-394-7100. The Cultural Center is located at 307 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
