The Yarmouth Port Library Presents The Larchmont Remembered With Daniel Harrington Friday, May 16th at 1:00 PM On Tuesday, February 12, 1907, the steamship Larchmont departed from Providence Rhode Island with an estimated 150 passengers and 30 crewmembers aboard, destination New York City. This is the story of one of New England’s most horrific sea disasters, what happened that fateful night in the icy waters of Long Island Sound, and the stories of the crew and passengers on board. Daniel Harrington is a former East Providence City Councilor and long-time featured monthly columnist for the Providence Journal and serves as a Director for the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
